Education for All
Working toward quality educational opportunities for less privileged children, orphans, and children with disabilities in Sierra Leone.
Every Child Deserves an Opportunity to Learn
DCNCD's Education for All initiative stems from a deep concern for vulnerable and less privileged children across Sierra Leone — particularly orphans, children living with disabilities, and those from economically disadvantaged rural communities.
Education is the single most powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty, fostering independence, and preparing young people to become active, peaceful participants in society.
The Challenge
Understanding the barriers preventing vulnerable children from accessing quality education.
Orphans & Vulnerable Children
Many children who have lost one or both parents lack financial support for school fees, uniforms, materials, and basic care.
Children with Disabilities
Specialised educational facilities, accessible infrastructure, and inclusive learning environments remain scarce in many regions.
Infrastructure Deficits
Overcrowded classrooms, limited teaching materials, and long travel distances restrict children's access to consistent schooling.
Our Vision for Educational Infrastructure
As described in DCNCD's foundational prospectus, the organisation aspires to provide comprehensive educational facilities from primary through university levels.
Our long-term dream is the establishment of six school structures comprising primary and secondary schools to serve under-resourced communities across Northern Province and beyond.
Note on Progress: The establishment of these school structures represents DCNCD's long-term strategic vision. We are currently actively seeking international, foundation, and government partners to make this vision a reality.
DCNCD clearly distinguishes between existing active programmes and long-term development goals.
