Intercultural & Educational Exchange
Connecting young people and institutions across Sierra Leone, Norway, and other parts of the world.
Connecting Youth & Institutions Across Borders
DCNCD's Intercultural and Educational Exchange programme focuses on building meaningful, reciprocal connections between young people, educators, and development activists in Sierra Leone, Norway, and globally.
Through shared learning, digital collaboration, joint workshops, and mutual visits, we nurture international solidarity, broaden horizons, and equip youth with global competencies.
Core Areas of Exchange & Development
Seven key areas documented in DCNCD's prospectus that drive our exchange activities.
Education & Skills Development
Facilitating knowledge transfer, practical training, and educational exchanges between institutions in Sierra Leone and international partners.
Digital Skills
Preparing young people for the modern job market through digital literacy, technology tools, and online collaboration skills.
Employability
Improving adaptability, communication, language skills, and cross-border problem-solving abilities to enhance youth employment.
Civic Engagement & Leadership
Encouraging youth participation, democratic values, leadership development, and active civic responsibility in local and global contexts.
Cultural Exchange & Social Cohesion
Building intercultural understanding, mutual respect, solidarity, and lasting friendships across national and cultural boundaries.
Economic Empowerment & Innovation
Supporting youth entrepreneurship, social innovation, and economic inclusion initiatives for self-reliance.
Resilient Communities
Empowering young people to build sustainable livelihoods and contribute to stronger, resilient local economies.
Sierra Leone – Norway Bridge
Building on founder Gert Skoczowsky-Danielsen's Norwegian heritage and deep ties to Sierra Leone, DCNCD maintains a special focus on exchange partnerships with organisations in Norway such as Empathos Norway.
This bridge fosters reciprocal learning, joint research, volunteer placements, and cultural dialogue — enriching communities in both Sierra Leone and Norway.
"Intercultural exchange is not a one-way street. It is a dialogue of equals where both sides learn, share, and grow together."
Become an Exchange Partner
We invite universities, youth organisations, and NGOs worldwide to collaborate on exchange programmes with DCNCD.
